AIM Rosario statement on the increase in withholdings
From the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists of Rosario we express our concern about the increase in withholdings on exports proposed by the Omnibus Law promoted by the national government.
The local metallurgical industry (1,276 metallurgical establishments in the Rosario department and 58,000 employees in our sector in Santa Fe) provides work and products for all productive sectors, both for the domestic market and for export.
In addition, Santa Fe is not only an important metalworking hub but alsothe second exporting province, where there are numerous metallurgical establishments that produce everything from custom pieces for large developments to bulk screws for Canada. In short, our province is a generator of the foreign currency that our country needs so much today to contribute to the long-awaited economic and social recovery.
For this reason, we call on our rulers and legislators to not only safeguard jobs but to promote even better productive conditions, in an Argentina in which industry is a source of progress, development and sustainability.
