ANNUAL COLLECTION Caritas Argentina Rosario - “In difficult times let's share more”
With a record of aid distributed, Cáritas Argentina launches its traditional Annual Collection
“In difficult times let's share more” will be the motto for this year.
After registering a historical record of more than 3,000,000 people reached with material help, Cáritas Argentina launches the 2021 edition of its traditional Annual Collection. It will be held throughout the country on Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13 under the motto “In difficult times, let's share more.”
For the second consecutive year, the institution of the Catholic Church will base its fundraising strategy on social networks and digital donation platforms, in order to unbalance the traditional in-person format, affected by restrictions on circulation.te;n product of the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the traditional envelopes and ballot boxes will be maintained for those who wish to approach the parishes and collaborate physically, the 2021 campaign will be in line with current health instructions, to avoid contagion.
“The pandemic has put millions of Argentine families in a dramatic situation, aggravating
significantly the difficult conditions they already faced. This situation required a notable coordination and logistical effort to provide material care and spiritual support to the most needy Argentines,” summarized Mons. Carlos Tissera, president of Cáritas Argentina.
August 26, Solidarity Day, is the date on which Cáritas Argentina announces the final number of what was raised in each Collection.
Last year, the total collection at the national level was $126,165,558.-. The figure represented an 8.58% increase compared to 2019.
In the Archdiocese of Rosario the amount raised was: $3,079,544, 17.5% more than in the previous edition.
The money from the Collection is intended to support immediate aid and human promotion programs that Cáritas develops throughout the year.
The proceeds from this 2021 Collection will be an enormous help to continue supporting over time not only the programs that were already being developed, but also the new initiatives born in this emergency, especially those related to food aid. p>
