AIM participated in the 31st UIA Industrial Conference
The Association of Metallurgical Industrialists of Rosario participated on November 13 and 14 in the Federal Meeting of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA), an event that combined strategic debates, technical tours and spaces for institutional articulation. Representing AIM, Sebastián Panuncio and Eugenia Arancibia attended, who integrated the central activities of the event.
The 31st Argentine Industrial Conference began with important interventions, including a letter sent by Pope Leo XIV, which called on leaders and businessmen to promote a productive model oriented to the common good, with centrality in the dignity of work and the integral development of people. Although the macroeconomic situation was addressed, there were no concrete definitions for the industry, which marked a contrast with the expectations of the productive sectors.
One of the most relevant speeches was that of the CEO of Techint, Paolo Rocca, who highlighted the need to recover an active industrial policy in the face of an international scenario transformed by geopolitical tensions and new global protection mechanisms. In turn, the president of the UIA, Martín Rappallini, highlighted the importance of productive federalism and presented the axes of the “New Productive Contract”, aimed at financing, tax reform, modernization lemployment, technical education and competitive infrastructure.
During the day, representatives of UIA Joven held an exchange with Rappallini to learn about the expectations and lines of work planned for next year, strengthening the role of industrial youth within the national agenda.
The second day included a tour of plants 1 and 2 of Escorial, where processes of productive reconversion, automation and strategies to face international competition were analyzed. The Argentine Nanotechnology Foundation was also visited, with technical talks, a tour of laboratories and meetings with the startups CHEMTEST and FIBERLY, which showedinnovative developments in health and reuse of materials.
The agenda concluded with a working lunch in which the president of ADIMRA, Elio del Re participated, in which visions were shared about the country's industrial present and the global challenges of the sector.
