Accumulated fall in Rosario: The real turnover of the Rosario metallurgical industry registered a decrease of 9.0% year-on-year in 2025, deepening the contraction of 2024 (-26.0%). After three consecutive years of declines, the level of sector activity is 36.3% lowerr below the 2022 record, evidencing the magnitude of the deterioration.
Widespread inflationary impact: During December 2025, 77% of Rosario's metallurgical activities registered nominal billing increases lower than the consumer price index. In the accumulated annual figure, the sector's turnover at current values grew 28.7%, well below the annual average inflation (44.5%), confirming an extended decline in real terms.
Installed capacity at critical levels: At the national level, the utilization of the installed capacity of the metallurgical industry reached 38.9% in December 2025, 6.8 percentage points less than a year ago and one of the lowest records in recent years.
Foreign trade in deterioration: Metal exportsAcute;rgics fell 2.1%, while imports grew 27.6% year-on-year. The sectoral trade deficit exceeded $26 billion in 2025, reflecting a growing substitution of national production for imported goods.
Companies and employment in decline: Between December 2023 and November 2025, the Argentine metallurgical industry lost 851 employers (-5.7%) and 18,894 registered jobs (-6.7%). In November 2025, sectoral employment showed a year-on-year drop of 4.4%.
Branches most affected: In 2025, sectors with a significant presence in Rosario recorded sharp drops in activity, such as Metal Foundry (-8.8%), Other metal products and work services (-9.5%), Auto Parts (-3.9%) and Household Appliances (-1.0%), accumulating in several cases their second consecutive year of decline.incident.
