AIM supports the reform of the Santa Fe Labor Procedure Code
The current system has generated a sharp increase in litigation and labor costs in recent years, without this meaning better protection for workers. Santa Fe has one of the highest rates of labor lawsuits in the country and ART rates much higher than the national average, which directly impacts the competitiveness of our companies and the generation of formal employment.
Today, Santa Fe companies pay an average ART rate of 4.03%, compared to 2.78% of the national average. Furthermore, a worker from our province is more than twice as likely to initiate a labor lawsuit than one from Córdoba. This scenario implies million-dollar cost overruns that especially affect industrial SMEs.
The reform project proposes reasonable and necessary measures, such as establishing themedical commissions as a mandatory instance prior to trials and modify the expert fee scheme, correcting incentives that currently distort the system and encourage judicialization.
We understand that this modernization will reduce conflict, provide greater legal predictability and generate more favorable conditions for investing and creating registered work.
For this reason, from AIM we ask provincial legislators to move forward responsibly and quickly in approving this reform, key to strengthening the industry and employment in Santa Fe.
