"We young industrialists in some way want to show a position of where we want to go and which is the best possible country," said Elio del Re about the motivations for holding the Young ADIMRA Congress next Thursday, October 30, under the motto "Keys to Argentine industrial development", organized by the youth commission of the metallurgical entity.
In his capacity as president of ADIMRA Joven, Del Re explained in dialogue with Ámbito Industrial+Pymes the scope of the first panel of the meeting called "Strategic investments as drivers of industrial demand." «It is what we understand that in the immediate future there will be a very high demand for metallurgical products, such as the oil and gas sector.gas, the nuclear sector and the infrastructure for the generation and transmission of high voltage electrical energy. We see that, among others, these three vectors are the ones that stand out from the great metallurgical demand of the future," analyzed Del Re.
The importance of technological innovation in competitiveness, The role of business union activity, The keys to the consolidation of the national industry, The international insertion of Argentina and the region in the face of the challenges of the world order and The fundamentals for the economic and social development of the Argentine economy are the rest of the topics that will be addressed during the meeting that will be held in the Golden Hall of the Golden Center Convention Center. The highlight will be the closing by the Minister of Economy, Axel Kicillof, and the organizers have made the invitation for President Cristina de Kirchner.
When asked about how he imagines metallurgical companies will enter the oil and gas sector, the president of ADIMRA Joven stated: «We believe that the issue of Vaca Muerta is very important and there will be great national participation in the development. of new and conventional products, but by exploiting such high demand there will be a lot of participation from the metallurgical sector. The capital goods used are metallurgical. Regarding how the metallurgical sector is facing the new demands, Del Re analyzed: «The metallurgical sector is a very large and heterogeneous sector; There are very competitive sectors and there are sectors that are not so competitive. The idea of the congress is in some way to show what the direction of these sectors is, so that companies that are not there can prepare better.to supply the demand.
Journalist: Will there be future editions of the congress?
Elio del Re: Yes. The idea is from our sector to mark where we want to go and what we consider important for the development of the metallurgical industry.
Q.: What can young people contribute to business union activity?
E. del R.: We have a panel where business associations from footwear, textiles and toys will join us, which are sectors that are not metallurgical, but have many similarities in the problems. And on the other hand we have a very interesting panel where different metallurgical business associations from Latin American countries will attend: Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador and Uruguay. It will be a panel of young metallurgical union representatives of ssix countries, in a debate to show the problems and what would be the work that needs to be done for the future to enhance our exchange.
Q.: Is there a renewal of the business union leadership?
E. del R.: From ADIMRA, I do believe that the renewal is well marked. The entity made a decision a few years ago with the creation of the young commission, which has been growing, with its regional and sectoral chambers. Most of the people who are participating are already part of the board of directors of their chambers and some of us are participating in the board of directors of ADIMRA. And at a general level, the other chambers, for example, those that have the same problems as ADIMRA, are sending young people to the panels and also have a structure that contains them. The beefproductive urgency made young people begin to form a more active part of the entire business union movement; there is a renewal.
Q.: What are the expectations?
E. del R.: We are very confident that an interesting event is going to happen. It seems to us that with the different panels we are going from the technical to the political. We have all the ingredients to make this congress an experience for the future.
